Nolan Chart Web Site Panda Penalties Reversed
In the summer of 2007, before everyone became worried about the economy (except me, I was already worried), I began work coding a new web site under the domain name nolanchart.com. My motivation is that I wanted a place to publish my views about politics, economics, monetary and banking policy, and other similar issues. However, I did not want the new site to be little more than just another blog. So I wrote the code with the intention of making contributions from other writers part of the plan. The site launched on August 19, 2011, and within a month it was picked up by Google News. A month after that, the Ron Paul Revolution people found it, and it was clear sailing from that day onward.
Now, fast-forward to the Spring of 2011. For nearly four years, the Nolan Chart site had averaged roughly 50,000 unique visitors per month. During 2011, however, those numbers dropped steadily, until June 2011 when they reached a low of 31,000 unique visitors. We had never done any SEO-related work on the site, primarily because it was merely a fun hobby site rather than a serious commercial site. However, once June arrived with its discouraging news about traffic to the site, we started to investigate the SEO needs of the site.
Ultimately, the biggest problem the site had was duplicate title and meta descriptions. This problem happens with most sites that have Content Management System capabilities, and the Nolan Chart was no exception. There were also other issues, including the need to include keywords in the URLs of the site's articles and the need for a way to better link the articles together.
By October, we had done all the diagnosis and repairs that needed to be done. During this time, traffic kept increasing with every step forward that we took. However, it wasn't until we went after the duplication issues with great determination that the biggest gains occurred on the Nolan Chart.
It is now December 2011, and for the past 30 days our traffic numbers total 88,000 unique visitors, nearly a 300% of what we had before! Clearly, all of our hard work has paid off handsomely.
So when you ask us for help promoting your site, make sure you ask us about our experience with the Nolan Chart web site. We will be glad to share the details, and we can accomplish great success with your site as well... provided, of course, that you follow our advice!
