American Women's Services A woman’s health is a serious business, particularly where her pelvic area is concerned and she is of reproductive age. That’s why it’s so important to have a gynecologist you can trust, whether you want to carry your pregnancy to term or opt for abortion or RU486. American Women’s Services has been devoted to reproductive freedom and quality women’s healthcare for over 25 years. With 14 regional offices in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia, there’s likely to be a clinic near you if you live in a mid-Atlantic state. Emergency contraception (RU486) contains hormones that inhibit ovulation and implantation and requires a prescription from a licensed health care practitioner in MD, NJ, PA and VA. This medication prevents pregnancy after unprotected intercourse, but does not cause abortion and will not be successful if you are already pregnant. We will administer a pregnancy test to you at your appointment. Testing and treatment for STDs and HIV is an important part of reproductive healthcare. We advise our patients to be screened for sexually transmitted infections and diseases at least yearly as part of their annual gynecological care. We provide treatment for most STDs and referrals for more serious conditions. They are dedicated to your privacy and the confidentiality of your care. Your health records and all communications with their offices will be kept confidential, unless the law requires disclosure of your information. American Women’s Services maintains the strictest confidentiality policies and practices. No woman under any circumstances should be forced to have an abortion. You can change your mind at any time during your appointment up until your procedure is begun and you will be refunded for all services not yet rendered. If you feel forced or pressured by someone else to end your pregnancy, please let one of the staff know and they will assist you however we can. |
